This game surprised me, it was a heck of a lot of fun. Immortals: Fenyx Rising (PS5) - I am still playing it and working on the platinum, but I beat the main story. I at least have one to add to the list already: Between work and working on my master's, I have been stupid busy. Here is hoping I have a more productive gaming year in 2020 than I did in 2021. I don't know if most have significant consequences - so, does it matter what you choose? I imagine the game's response to that is: It matters that you chose it i t matters if you think it matters. The gameplay amounts to clicking through dialogue bubbles, often choosing between 2-3 options to direct/play out the conversation. Personally, it went by pretty fast for me - I was surprised an hour and a half had gone by when credits popped. It's clearly meant to be taken slow, the way it deliberately pauses between dialogue and tosses in some meditative moments. Like Wide Ocean Big Jacket, throw this one under the interactive narrative category. It's almost entirely presented as a single shot (eat your heart out, God of War). Eventually, a talking deer wanders over to you, and you carry out a conversation reflecting on life, death, nature, loneliness, purpose, and badgers, among other things, as day fades to night. You find yourself precariously teetering on the edge of a cliff in your car (who I named Carlos). It managed to create interesting characters and satisfyingly present a small moment of their lives in a very short time. I find it hard to give a score to something like this, but I enjoyed the writing and the down-to-earth story/conversation beats along the way.
#Shantae gba spanky joe series
It's set up as a series of vignettes that offer slightly more player input than a visual novel, but you're really just along for the ride. Low-key slice of life story about a camping trip between an energetic, inquisitive teenage girl, her shy new boyfriend, along with her uncle and his wife (late 20's/early 30's?), who bring the kids along as a favor for her mother. Made me think of Outer Wilds in that way, on a smaller scale and with more tangible progression. Pretty neat Zelda-inspired roguelike that gives you 60 seconds per run to make progress - eventually unlocking the abilities / shortcuts that allow you to reach the ending within the time limit. All participants from the Games Completed Thread 2020 will be automatically included (if you would wish to change this and not participate, please contact me via post in the thread or PM) I will make exceptions for this if you are willing to format your posts correctly or at the very least provide platform information for every game.

Those who would like to participate in this thread must post in it at least once, stating that they'd like to join, before February 6th, 2021. Infractions can be punished by anything from a temporary or permanent Thread Ban to an actual site wide ban. For example, if I beat Mega Man 5 in January 2021 and March 2021, I'd get the *, but if I beat it in December 2020 and March 2021 it would just be put up normally. Certain expansions, spinoffs, or DLC's can count as their own game, but a lot of times I would prefer to stick them on as an addendum to the main game instead of their own thing (so that means if you've beaten the main game this year, let me know that you have so I can put the DLC being completed on the same entry as the main one).Īn asterisk * denotes a second+ playthrough (in the year of 2020). Episodic games only count after you finish the last part of the game, although there are some exceptions to this. What counts as a completed game? This is mostly open to personal judgement, but if you see a credits sequence more than likely I'll say you've beaten the game (fighting games being an exception due to their nature, however they can be completed if you beat a dedicated story mode and/or the arcade mode with all characters).
